Nov. 8-11, 2012, Peace Conference

This annual conference at Lake Junaluska, N.C., focuses on seeking peace with justice in our world.  In 2012, the theme is “Love in Action: The Transformative Power of Nonviolence.” It will draw upon the lessons of nonviolent campaigns and their leaders who discovered a force that can change the world. Participants will explore the principles and learn the applications of nonviolence as taught by Gandhi, King, and many spiritual leaders who offered this alternative paradigm for resolving conflict, achieving justice, and building peace. Nexus Center

The Greenville, S.C.-based Nexus Center is dedicated to cultivating spiritual awareness by publicizing speakers, conferences and workshops within a two-hour drive from Greenville. It also hosts two annual conferences – the Engaging Faith Conference in partnership with the Office of the Chaplain at Furman University each February and a Dream Workshop in the fall led by Jungian faculty associated with The Haden Institute. Interfaith Forum

The Greenville, S.C.-based Interfaith Forum tries to build understanding, respect, dialogue and cooperation among the various religious groups in the community, the region, the nation and the world. It is affiliated with the United Religions Initiative, the United Way’s Religious Roundtable, the International Center of the Upstate and Greenville Forward’s Committee for Inclusiveness. The Dykes Foundation

The D.L. Dykes Foundation sponsors learning events on progressive theology.
